This project investigates how acute stress affects cognitive function by analyzing shifts in brain network balance. Using wearable technology, it aims to identify neural markers of stress resilience and develop a neurofeedback method to help individuals adaptively manage stress.
Acute stress has a profound impact on cognitive functioning: it raises alertness for threat, yet it impairs our ability to think clearly.
Repeated exposure to stressors is furthermore a critical transdiagnostic factor in etiology, relapse, and chronification in almost all psychiatric disorders.
