StretchBio focuses on developing a compact nanosystem to monitor mechanical stresses in small tissue biopsies. This technology aims to enhance understanding of cancer progression and improve drug testing by providing real-time insights into tissue mechanics.
Mechanical tension and stresses are considered key factors associated to the control of the growth and proliferation of tumoral cells and tissues.
Monitoring of such stresses would help to better understand cancer progression and also to test the effectiveness of anticancer drugs aiming to restore normal tissue mechanics.
