The project explores the use of agglomerated nanophased powders for creating nano-structured coatings through a novel deposition technique. It aims to develop coatings with enhanced properties for applications in aeronautics, mechanics, and biomedicine.
The basic scientific and technological concept of the project is to use agglomerated nanophased powders to be transferred onto a substrate in the form a coating with very little or none change of crystal structure.
This will allow to obtain nano-structured coatings with a crystal size very close to the powder one.
The concept will be extended to an important breakthrough concept that is the “Supersonic deposition of nanostructured surfaces” using multifunctional “reactive” aggregated nanopowder…
