The SUPRANET project explores new dynamic reaction networks in supramolecular chemistry to develop systems that can transport ions across membranes. This research seeks to address challenges in drug delivery and the origins of life by creating self-assembling molecular structures.
Over the past two decades, a branch of organic chemistry has emerged that breaks with the paradigm of synthesizing pure compounds and focusses instead on complex (macro)molecular networks akin to those found in nature.
