This project aims to enhance high-power electric propulsion systems for space applications by integrating High-Temperature Superconductors. It seeks to improve the performance and longevity of propulsion technologies for various emerging market needs.
High-power electric propulsion technology is needed to enable the sustainable realisation of emerging market applications such as On-OrbitServicing, in-space cloud computing, debris removal and cis-lunar infrastructure.
However, relevant technologies, in terms of cost-effectiveness, sustainability, and performance, are not yet available.
