This project aims to develop new treatment and vaccination strategies against severe Staphylococcus aureus infections, particularly focusing on immune evasion mechanisms. By identifying surface proteins that hinder immune response, the research seeks to create more effective vaccines.
The global incidence and rise of severe S. aureus infections accompanied by an alarming increase in antibiotic resistance warrants the development of novel treatment and vaccination strategies.
