SusAlgaeFuel aims to create cost-effective Sustainable Aviation Fuels from microalgae by utilizing carbon dioxide emissions from biogas upgrading. The project integrates innovative methods for algae cultivation and processing, targeting significant reductions in production costs and environmental impact.
Microalgae can play a critical role in meeting EU targets to increase the share of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAFs) in the aviation industry from 2% in 2025 to 64% by 2050.
