The SWING project focuses on advancing the field of magnonics by developing techniques to guide and manipulate spin-waves in nanostructured magnetic materials. It combines expertise from institutions in the USA and Italy to create reconfigurable nanoscale devices for efficient information processing.
Spin-waves, i.e. propagating perturbations in the spin arrangement of magnetic materials, are envisioned to revolutionize the way information is carried and processed due to their multiplexing capability and absence of Joule losses.
