SWItchFate investigates the role of BAF complexes in brain development and disease. By utilizing human stem cell-derived organoids, it aims to uncover how mutations in these complexes affect gene regulation and contribute to neurodevelopmental disorders.
The mammalian SWI/SNF chromatin remodellers, the BAF complexes, are critical regulators of gene expression by modulating the accessibility of regulatory regions, especially of cell identity genes.
