The SYLFEED project aims to sustainably produce proteins in Europe by transforming woody biomass into Single Cell Protein for animal feed, particularly in aquaculture. It seeks to enhance local economies and reduce reliance on imported protein sources through innovative bio-refinery processes.
For decades, Europe has been facing a huge protein deficit (more than 70% is imported).
Today, the objective is to initiate ways to sustainably produce proteins in Europe, by creating new cross-sectorial businesses.
