The SymFlux project studies how bacterial symbionts in squid respond to temperature changes due to climate change. It aims to identify molecular mechanisms that enhance symbiotic resilience and understand the dynamics of these relationships.
Beneficial microbes are essential for many animals and mutualistic interactions must be able to withstand environmental changes such as temperature fluctuations.
