This project investigates the connections between the sympathetic nervous system and adipose tissue, focusing on how these interactions influence fat metabolism and obesity. It aims to map the sympathetic nervous system's anatomy and explore potential therapeutic targets for obesity treatment.
The era of molecular genetics has enabled the mechanistic dissection of brain circuits as well as the immune system in spectacular ways.
However, the molecular and cellular organization of the sympathetic nervous system (SNS), which innervates all known organs, is essentially unexplored.
