The T1SIA project aims to develop a simulator for type 1 diabetes that incorporates the effects of GLP-1 receptor agonists. This tool will enhance automatic insulin delivery systems by allowing researchers to explore the impact of these therapies on glucose management.
People with type 1 diabetes (T1D) live with the burden of self-managing their glucose levels.
Although automatic insulin delivery (AID) systems have alleviated this load, patients still need to count carbohydrates and administer insulin boluses at mealtimes, making the systems prone to human errors, which could have severe health consequences.
