This project explores the diversity and functions of skin peptides in amphibians, focusing on antimicrobial and pheromone molecules. It aims to understand the evolutionary mechanisms behind these peptides and their role in amphibian communication and defense.
Most studies on amphibian skin peptides have an explicit pharmacological focus, and the origin, diversity, and functional diversification of these molecules therefore remain poorly understood.
