This project proposes a novel algal biorefinery concept aimed at making algal biofuel production economically viable. It focuses on integrating sustainable practices to enhance energy production and reduce reliance on synthetic fertilizers, thus promoting a greener economy.
Algal-based biofuels are increasingly attracting attention as they have the capacity to serve both as a source of renewable carbon fuels and as a powerful tool for carbon sequestration.
However, algal biofuel production remains outside the realm of economic feasibility due to the energy-intensive extraction techniques and limitations in algal cultivation which requires large amounts of fertilizer.
