This project explores the moral implications of stigma, examining when it may be justified to stigmatize certain behaviors. It aims to develop a nuanced understanding of stigma's moral risks, contributing to philosophical discussions and interdisciplinary research on social norms.
Stigma is a familiar feature of human life and, often, a clearly objectionable one.
Opposition to stigmas that reinforce oppressive norms (for example, racist, sexist, or ableist norms) should be amongst the few uncontroversial starting points for a liberal egalitarian politics.
