This project addresses the concrete industry's carbon emissions by developing textile-reinforced concrete, which reduces material mass and embodied CO2. It focuses on optimizing concrete properties and using functionally graded materials to enhance performance while minimizing environmental impact.
The concrete industry is facing major challenges in terms of the global climate crisis as this sector is accountable for 6 to 7 % of global carbon emissions.
