The THAIS project aims to explore the demographic impact of Greek colonization in Southern Italy through ancient DNA analysis. By examining human skeletal remains, it seeks to reconstruct genetic ancestry and assess interactions between Greek colonists and local populations.
The period of Greek colonisation between 900 and 500 BC was one of the most formative periods of classical antiquity.
