The ADAMO project develops a robotic arm that provides precise therapeutic treatments for back pain, enhancing the efficiency of physiotherapy. It uses artificial intelligence to monitor treatment progress and can replicate treatment plans, improving patient outcomes and reducing costs.
Back pain affects over 200 million people in Europe and is a leading cause of disability and chronic pain.
It is estimated that the impact of pain associated to Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) in society costs the EU up to 441 billion Euros per year.
To understand patients’ pain, physiotherapists rely on their experience and patient interviews to develop a treatment plan, obtain data regarding patients´ health, pain status and treatment evolution.
