The ThermoGrind project focuses on improving the production of sapphire wafers for light-emitting diodes by developing a system to measure grinding temperature. This innovation aims to enhance process stability and reduce production costs.
The market for discrete light emitting diodes (LEDs) is very fast growing.
Basic materials for white and blue LEDs are wafers of Silicon Carbide (SiC) and Sapphire (Al2O3).
