This project investigates how freshwater fish adapt their behavior and habitat use in response to warming rivers. It aims to understand the role of specific fish traits in their ability to manage temperature changes, thereby enhancing their resilience to climate change effects.
Predicting, preventing and/ or ameliorating the consequences of climate change is a major strategic objective of the European Union, particularly regarding ecology and biodiversity.
Many species compromised by warming have shifted their distributions to areas of higher latitude to track their ‘climate niche’.
