THOR develops advanced terahertz (THz) detection technology for environmental monitoring and industrial applications. This project focuses on creating sensitive detectors that operate at higher temperatures, making them suitable for portable and space applications.
Remote sensing and monitoring in various environments solves many scientific and societal problems.
Examples are: industrial air pollution control, global atmosphere surveillance, our planet system and the universe exploration, process controls in industry, and material research in laboratories.
