The THRIVE project focuses on improving outcomes for liver cancer patients by understanding risk factors and tumor interactions. It aims to develop biomarkers and affordable treatments through advanced technologies and a multidisciplinary approach, addressing both adult and pediatric liver cancers.
Liver cancer is a major health problem with ~1 million cases diagnosed each year (~90,000 cases/year in Europe), and it is the 3rd cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide.
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in adults, and hepatoblastoma (HB) in children are considered poorly understood cancers.
