This project focuses on using time-resolved X-ray scattering to study ion transport in membrane proteins, specifically halorhodopsin. The goal is to visualize the dynamics of ion movement, enhancing the understanding of cellular transport mechanisms.
In this application we propose to apply the emerging tools of solution-phase, time-resolved X-ray scattering to the study of transfer phenomena in membrane transport proteins.
