This project investigates the influence of Mongolian languages on the Kyrgyz language, focusing on vocabulary, phonology, morphology, and syntax. It aims to enhance understanding of linguistic contacts between Turkic and Mongolian languages through detailed analysis of borrowings and substrate effects in Kyrgyz.
Kyrgyz is a bridge language in terms of historical-comparative linguistics, the geographical territory of which is located between different groups of Turkic languages on the one side, and Turkic and Mongolian languages on the other.
