This project aims to develop new treatments for Hepatitis C Virus infection by understanding the relationship between the virus and host lipid metabolism. It focuses on creating microfabricated platforms for high-throughput screening of potential drug combinations to minimize viral replication.
Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) infection affects over 3% of the world population and is the leading cause of chronic liver disease worldwide.
Current treatments are effective in only 50% of the cases and associated with significant side effects.
Therefore, there is a pressing need for the development of alternative treatments.
