This project explores the historical impact of climate change on seal populations in the Baltic Sea using ancient DNA techniques. It aims to understand the demographic and genetic changes of four seal species over time, providing insights into their survival and extinction in response to environmental shifts.
Understanding how species were affected by past climate-induced environmental change is key to predicting the ecological consequences of future climate change.
