This research focuses on modeling membrane separation processes using microfluidic platforms. It aims to address challenges such as biofouling and concentration polarization, with individual PhD students tackling specific aspects of these processes.
The research objective is to study and model membrane separation processes at the microscopic scale. I propose to exploit microfluidic platforms that contain a certain membrane separation challenge to be studied; i.e. biofouling, overlimiting current, and concentration polarization.
Each challenge will be the topic for an individual PhD student.
