TRANSDOTT focuses on developing sustainable aquaculture for Bluefin Tuna by translating previous research into practical applications. The project aims to establish effective breeding and rearing techniques, ensuring the economic viability of tuna farming while addressing sustainability concerns.
Due to declining stocks and increased fishing pressure there are serious concerns that the present fisheries and fattening industry for Bluefin Tuna (Thunnus thynnus) is not sustainable and that every effort should be made to develop BFT aquaculture.
