TransDRiM focuses on improving drought management across the Guadiana river basin, which spans Portugal and Spain. The project aims to enhance cooperation between the two countries, reduce conflicts over water use, and develop a framework for effective drought risk management in transboundary contexts.
TransDRiM is an advanced training and research project focused on transboundary drought management at the river basin scale, in the context of the Water Framework Directive implementation.The proposed methodologies are applied to the Guadiana river basin, the fourth largest within the Iberian Peninsula, where shared watersheds between Portugal and Spain account for over 2/3 of its territory.
