The TRAYSRENEW project aims to develop biodegradable packaging solutions for poultry products using renewable materials like flax and hemp fibers. This initiative seeks to extend the shelf life of poultry while addressing environmental concerns related to packaging waste.
Poultry is considered by consumers as healthy, inexpensive and a nutritious source of protein.
Poultry consumption will increase 9,4% by 2015 and the projected consumption and production would increase from 98 Mt in 2009 to 120 Mt in 2017.
