This project focuses on enhancing gaseous detectors, specifically Time Projection Chambers, for rare event searches like dark matter detection and neutrino experiments. By improving readout technologies, it aims to make these detectors more sensitive and applicable in future high-potential experiments.
Gaseous detectors like TPCs are seldom used in Rare Event searches (like those looking for Dark Matter particles, Neutrinoless Double Beta Decay or other neutrino experiments) due mainly to the difficulty in reaching target masses large enough to be sensitive to the extremely low counting rates expected.
