The project aims to implement Triboconditioning®, a surface treatment technology that significantly reduces friction and wear in industrial and automotive components. This innovative process is designed to enhance energy efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions in transportation and manufacturing.
Worldwide about 100 million terajoules, one fifth of the total energy produced, is used each year to overcome friction.
The largest quantities of energy are used by industry (29%) and in transportation (27%).
As much as 17.5% of the energy used in road transports can be reduced by effective implementation of new tribological solutions.
This equals to annual energy savings of 11.6 exajoules, fuel savings of 330 billion litres and reductions in CO2 emissions by 860 million tonnes.Triboconditionin…
