This project investigates the mechanical behavior of weak layers in snow to improve avalanche forecasting. By developing experimental tools and models, it aims to enhance understanding of snow stability and inform risk management in mountainous regions.
Snow avalanche is the most frequent type of slope failure in mountainous areas of the world.
