This project investigates the relationship between tRNA and mRNA pools in mammalian cells to understand how translation affects cell proliferation and differentiation. By analyzing codon usage and tRNA populations, it aims to uncover regulatory mechanisms that influence these cellular states.
Translation maps the transcriptome onto the proteome.
It is regulated at the initiation levels and also by mRNA secondary structure, and – our current focus – by the interplay between the mRNA and tRNA pools.
