This research investigates how changes in vegetation affect surface temperature across global ecosystems, particularly in the European sub-arctic. By analyzing data from the FLUXNET database, the project aims to understand the mechanisms behind these changes and their implications for climate models.
Global climate is changing rapidly, and vegetation distribution is shifting as a consequence.
Vegetation change feeds back to climate change by altering the surface albedo, soil heat flux, and sensible and latent heat flux, and thereby the surface energy balance and surface temperature (Ts).
