This project focuses on developing advanced imaging techniques to visualize neural activity patterns in three dimensions. By enhancing temporal-focusing multiphoton imaging, the project aims to provide real-time access to brain activity, which could benefit neuroimaging and micro-endoscopy applications.
Information in the nervous system is typically represented in activity patterns distributed across large populations of neurons in three dimensions, and there is a lot of current interest in the development of systems that can volumetrically image these patterns (or other distributed processes) in real-time.
