UNRAVEL focuses on developing technologies to convert complex biomass into valuable components like lignin and sugars. By optimizing the extraction and purification processes, it aims to enhance the utilization of lignocellulosic materials for biochemical applications.
UNRAVEL aims to develop advanced pre-treatment, separation and conversion technologies for complex lignocellulosic biomass to produce usable lignin fragments, and monomeric sugars from the cellulose and hemicellulose fraction suitable for biochemical conversions.
