UP-GRAD focuses on improving the anaerobic digestion of food waste to produce biogas and biopolymers. The project aims to enhance the stability and efficiency of the digestion process through innovative techniques and bioreactor designs, addressing environmental issues related to food waste and plastic pollution.
Food waste (FW) and plastic pollution represent two of the most relevant environmental, economic and societal problems in this XXI century.
