This project investigates the immune responses of the bladder to urinary tract infections and bladder cancer. It aims to understand how specific immune cells interact with bacteria and how these interactions can inform better treatment strategies for these conditions.
The bladder is a unique mucosal barrier devoid of colonizing microbiota and organized lymphoid structures.
