This project investigates mitochondrial protein quality control mechanisms across species. It aims to understand how these pathways influence health and lifespan, potentially leading to new therapies for mitochondrial-related diseases by studying gene networks and their clinical implications.
Mitochondria—organelles specialized in energy harvesting through oxidative phosphorylation (Oxphos)—critically influence metabolism, health and lifespan.
