This project aims to explore the dynamics of receptor complexes in the brain, focusing on their role in synaptic transmission and memory. It seeks to identify new therapeutic targets for cognitive disorders by monitoring molecular interactions and their effects on neuronal signaling.
Receptors and associated scaffolds, together called receptosome, are relatively stable structures, but exchange of individual adaptor proteins can occur on a short time scale and in a highly regulated manner, which provides fine-tuning, speed, and specificity to the receptor signaling.
