VULKANO aims to retrofit industrial furnaces in the steel, ceramic, and aluminum sectors to enhance energy efficiency. By integrating new materials and advanced control systems, the project seeks to achieve significant improvements in energy consumption and environmental impact.
The main goal of VULKANO is the retrofitting of two types of industrial furnaces, namely preheating and melting, applied on three energy–intensive sectors (steel, ceramic and aluminium) with a huge number of potential users in Europe.
