WACO aims to enhance understanding of coastal ocean dynamics and biogeochemistry in West Africa by studying fine-scale processes. Utilizing advanced ocean models and extensive observations, the project focuses on the Senegalese and Mauritanian coasts to address environmental changes and improve coastal management.
Coastal oceans are essential to our societies but their health status is degrading rapidly in many parts of the world.
Anticipating or remedying environmental evolutions/degradations, including those resulting from global changes, is particularly difficult.
