This project focuses on developing high-temperature heat pumps to recover waste heat in industrial processes, particularly in the potato frying sector. By integrating advanced compressor technology, it aims to reduce fossil fuel consumption and CO2 emissions while tapping into a significant market opportunity.
The proposal addresses the initial exploitation of a vast business opportunity for waste heat recovery (WHR) in industrial processes worldwide. 12-25% of national energy consumption in industrial countries is used for drying, one of many processes suitable for WHR.
