This project investigates white dwarfs that host remnants of planetary systems, utilizing data from various astronomical surveys. It aims to analyze the composition of planetesimals and identify planets in close orbits, enhancing our understanding of planetary formation and evolution.
In the 25 years since the discovery of 51 Peg b, we went from not knowing if the Solar system is a fluke of Nature to realising that it is totally normal for stars to have planets.
