The WINK project examines the overlooked literary contributions of early modern women writers across various genres. By analyzing their texts, the research aims to challenge traditional views of intellectual value and highlight the significance of women's voices in historical discourse.
Literature scholars have succeeded in recovering texts by early modern women from different languages, genres, and sociopolitical contexts.
Still, compared to their male counterparts, few women writers feature in national canons, or they compose a separate set of ‘early modern women writers’.
