The WOOD-FLARETCOAT project focuses on developing flame retardant coatings for wood products using non-halogenated systems. These coatings aim to enhance fire resistance while also providing additional properties like antibacterial activity and scratch resistance.
The concept of the present project WOOD-FLARETCOAT is to solve the problem of producing improved flame retardant coatings for wood products, through the development of non-halogenated flame retardant systems based on inorganic flame retardant nanofillers (nano magnesium hydroxide, huntite and hydromagnesite) functionalised with ROs and incorporated into several water born polymeric matrix, to constitute composites.
