This project investigates the electronic changes in metal carbonyls during rapid transitions using ultrafast pulses in extreme ultraviolet and soft x-ray ranges. It aims to enhance our understanding of non-Born Oppenheimer processes, which have implications for various fields including chemistry and biology.
The Born Oppenheimer approximation (BOA) simplifies the electron-nuclear interaction by separation of their motion and is one of the milestones in the development of quantum physics and computational chemistry during the first half of the last century.
