This project explores the relationship between endoplasmic reticulum stress and inflammation in intestinal epithelial cells, particularly its connection to inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer. It aims to identify molecular pathways that could lead to new therapeutic strategies for these conditions.
Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress allows cells to cope with misfolded proteins through the Unfolded Protein Response (UPR).
